jillbeans and I did a private swap for four cards. I got the awesome Star Wars ones she posted (love Jabba!) and she got these from me. Harry Potter, Hermione, and Ron all fit together. Snape is by himself (isn't he always?). They got lost in the mail for a few days and I about freaked out thinking I would have to do them all again. But they magically made their way to jillybeans mailbox!

Here they are together with Hogwarts behind them.

 Harry Potter

 Hermione

Ron, he was one of my favorites!

And Snape. He is my other favorite.
Here is Snape again to show the shimmer in the backgrounds. They were all shimmery. I got carried away! LOL!

It was the good shimmer that doesn't come off on you.  Wink
 Thanks for checking them out!!!!

Ah, I am noting the artistically crumpled paper backgrounds.... I remember you mentioned you were trying this technique!  I love these results!  And you did such a great job!  I don't think I could ever make my drawings look like anybody they were intended to resemble... but you nailed them all!  I especially love the Ron and Snape ones (and the dragon in the background on Harry's).  Is the shimmer some kind of spray?

Yep, they are sprays! The background I originally smeared all over with Destressing ink, then crumpled and destressed some more (and more and more). It still didn't look quite done so I used two kinds of sprays. The Ditto spray will cover over anything you have down before you spray it. Very opaque. The second spray I have is by Art-C (got it from Hobby Lobby) and it just does a shimmer and doesn't cover up anything you have already done. I used them both.
And I have seen your cards bunny1kenobi. You don't give yourself enough credit. We know who they are and they are great!

And thanks! I am going to try to do the people in color next time, Eeks!

I'm pretty much in love with them. They rock my world. They might need a frame Them by themselves. They are so flipping cool. But I pretty much new they would rock since you are amazing.

Great drawings. Did you color them with markers, copics or watercolor?

Copic. I got a bunch of markers for Christmas but I only seem to use W1, W3, W5, & W7. LOL! I need to branch out. Baby steps.

jillybeans sent me a couple links to tutorials on how to do that! I will share the love!

http://www.timholtz.com/vid_distressink.htm
http://www.timholtz.com/vid_dabber-resist.htm

It shows how to use the distressing ink and pads (and paint dabbers I think). He makes crumpling paper look so effortless but I had to recrumple a couple times. I was not a natural. Ha! The destressing ink does not shimmer. That was a couple of sprays. I gave the name brand of those on the first page. Super fun!
Thanks again to jillybeans for the links and thank you to everyone for such nice and encouraging responses!

Ah, thanks for sharing the links gozer Smiley  I will wait till I'm in a 'need to destress' mood before I attempt a bunch of crumpling Cheesy

these are really good. i'm suprised that you put so much effort into a small project. i haven't tried making cards, but it may be easier to find the time to do than a large scale project. thanks for the inspiration
