Face Your Monkey Fears with a Monkey Print Purse

I was such a scaredy cat kid...I was scared of clowns, monkeys, height, etc.  I was pinched or bitten by one of those organ grinder monkeys when I was overseas with my Dad...they are not cute and not friendly...they want money or food!

Anyway, a friend gave me a ton of decorating fabric that I have been storing for years...as I was destashing, I found this piece, which I am guessing was for draperies...I was going to pitch it, but then decided, that I need to get over my monkey incident once and for all!
Seriously, as an adult living in the USA, when will I ever encounter a mean monkey?

So, here is my purse in homage of dressed up monkeys everywhere...

I lined it with a tan bamboo print and had just enough monkey fabric to make an inside pocket.  It is closed with a magnetic thing and the handles are bamboo.

I will probably use it more like a tote or maybe a project bag than an everyday bag...and yeah, I think maybe I no longer fear monkeys!

that is so strange about the grinder monkeys being trained to want the cashola. yeah, that's way scary. but you have turned that around and monkey is your FRIEND!

I wanted to get as much of the print as possible...since the fabric was free, I had the luxury of "wasting" some of it to get the right placement...I have a few scraps left, but there are no monkeys on them...thank goodness...not sure I could handle anymore than one monkey thing a year!
