I've been wanting to make a duffle for a while, and with Vera Bradley's quilted, bright bags all the rage, I set out to merge the two....

I came up with this design when I couldn't find a tutorial that matched what I wanted.  I'm happy I did.  I LOVE this bag!
I wrote up a tutorial for anyone who would like to make one like it.  You can find it HERE: http://sewplicity.blogspot.com/2012/07/tutorial-quilted-duffle-bag.html

Happy Sewing!

Thanks for the tute!  I must try it sometime.  I've seen bias tape used to "clean finish" seams, as my old seamstress used to say.

Yes, bias tape could be easily applied to the inside seams.  I were to sell the bag, I would do this, but for myself, I'm fine with the serged seam.   Smiley

Beautiful.  I checked the tutorial link and it is so clear.  I have made these bags and love them.  Will try one with your tute.  Thanks!

You made this look so easy, even for a beginner like me. I can't wait to try this out.
