My niece is trying to learn to quilt.  So I thought she could use a sewing box.  I had seen boxes of tools so I gave it a try.  I had a stack of leftover book board so it was made to use the smallest board, 5 x 6 inches.  It took almost a fat quarter of fabric outside.  The inner fabric was bigger to accommodate the pattern.  It won Honorable Mention at the county fair.  I think it's cute.

Outside of box.

Inside of box.  I love how it opens up to display the tools.

That is such a lovely box.  I love the way it opens right out flat.  I'm not surprised they were impressed by it at the fair.

Thank you!  I just hope my niece will like it.  Now that she has a baby she wants to learn sewing and quilting.  A box of tools should make it easier.  Plus I have some quilting books I purchased some time ago.  It should make a good start to hopefully a lifetime of crafting.

Thanks for looking.
