Hi em!  Well, first off, you need to be eligible for swapping.  You need to be on craftster for a month, have at least 15 comments, and be older than 16.  Here are the full rules on swapping:
http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html

Once you met the requirements, you can check out all the swaps here:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?board=75.0

There is usually an ongoing ATC swap that you can join usually run by either redstar13 or myself.  To join, just find the most active swap, send the organizer a message that you want to join and fill out the questionnaire.

Here is July's ATC swap:  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=410769.0
Go check it out and see all the fun!

Message me if you have any questions!

I got the book "Artist Trading Card Workshop" and it helped me get started.  Also I just took things I already did and just made them fit the atc size.  "Copy" someone else's idea and turn it into your own, sometimes this is more comfortable than starting from scratch and just give the person credit.  Have fun!
