do those ever happen? i see a lot of crafty swaps, but the only arty ones i have found are for atc's/chunky pages. are swaps ever done for larger pieces? thanks so much, and apologies in advance if this is an old topic or posted in the wrong spot etc.

For the most part art swaps seem to be on the small side, likely for ease/cost of mailing.  Right now there is a 4x6 art swap modeled on the Brooklyn art museum  one (last day of signups today Smiley)

It might be fun to do something larger if everyone was okay with the shipping costs.  What are your thoughts on size?

glad there is some interest!

size wise, i was thinking either 6x6 or 8x8 canvas's. but i am really open.

the craft swaps are awesome, i can participate in them to some extent--if it calls for a craft the uses my mixed media skills (think altered cigar boxes, wouldn't that be fun??). i barely knit or crochet, don't sew at all, don't make soap or candles etc. i am just looking for a swap i can participate in!

I would organize a wrapped 6x6 canvas (my favourite size hehe) in any medium if people were interested...

You know alot of the themed swaps lend themselves to making art, I often make art in exchange for fabulous sewn things Smiley

OK so I was at the art store and their canvas was on sale, so I picked up a few 6x6. I have never painted on this size so I am excited for this swap to start in August Grin
