Made a bracelet using pennies.  Domed the pennies into a curved shape, drilled holes, then stranded them together with copper colored findings.  Yes, using pennies in jewelry is okay.  Wink

Wearing.  I love it:

Bracelet went traveling too.  Went to the Golden Spike Museum.

So pretty!  Did you use certain years?  Either for special years (birthdays...), or to make sure you didn't get silver streaks in your pennies?  My son has gotten into those souviner pennies and we notice some of the newer pennies are copper coated and get silver streaks in them when they are pressed, so I wondered if you ran into the same problem making this bracelet.

I didn't use specific years in this one, but considered it for gifts down the road like grandkids birth years for a Grandma kind of thing.  As for the streaks, one penny that my 8 year old was hitting got silver streaks around the face (actually looked kinda neat), but I never seemed to have that problem. Iwas more just looking for similar colors.  If you don't want the streaks next time you do flattened pennies, find one pre1982.

how on earth did you bend the pennies.

Called a dapping block.  Comes with a concave block and tools with balls on the top.  You place the penny into the block and hit the ball tool with a hammer until you get the look you like.

~~~Thanks for the comments ladies!
This is lovely, and so well done.  I want to make a necklace with our Canadian loonies, which are a light copper colour, and toonies, which are two toned, copper and silver!  If I get around to it, I'll post them.
