A Drummer should wear fun shoes!

My hubby bought these black, plain converse shoes to wear while playing drums at formal events...he now plays at fun places, so it was time to revamp his boring black shoes! I remember seeing some pretty cool painted ones on Craftster, so I started looking to see how it was done...

I used fabric paint markers and just started doodling....one thing led to another and the next thing you know, I had painted all four sides....now he wants to do one of his other pairs and I will do the other...what a fun way and inexpensive way to get "new" shoes!

Exactly why I LOVE Craftster!

Those shoes aren't plain or formal any more! It turned out interesting, nice and fun! I especially like the salamander (I was translating that, it turned out to be the same word, hahaha)

Salamander? I thought it was a gecko! Anyway, it looks great on the shoe.

I wouldn't dare doing that on my husband's shoes...ah ah, I can imagine the look on his face , but I would like them for myself.

I love my happy shoes, and love yours too. Nothing better than dandying up a pair of boring shoes. Great work, and like yoopidou want to see your others. I used permanent markers, highlighters and colored pencils.

Those are so super fun! The lizard is definitely my favourite part. He's so cute! Great job on these!

Thanks!  It is a common image from Mexican art...I tried to do things that were fairly easy since I was freehand drawing as I went...

Next pair, I will probably sketch out a plan...or not!
