This is a piece I did for a steampunk swap.

I printed the image off on acrylic painting paper which gave it a great texture and glued it down to a simple canvas. I ended up acidently "distressing" the picture when I ran my finger over while it was still wet trying to get a bubble out but it works. I painted the canvas and the edges of the picture and then got out my random bits box and superglue! There is scrapbook paper, an old leather bracelet, a ragged piece of antique lace and some jewelry findings. I loved it when i was done and sooo didnt want to send it since I would never be able to make one for myself since I use unique and antique pieces. But my partner loved it so it was worth the little bit of heartach.

I've never heard of acrylic painting paper.  Is it just paper from a pad that you cut to size and ran through your printer?  That's a great image you selected.   Smiley

Yes its just a pad of paper for acrylic painting you can buy at walmart. It has a texture on it which makes the printed item almost look like its on canvas.
