I received from the lovely charlieandwillow today and I'm sure you'll all agree that her reported "swap anxiety" was for naught!

First, a cute "inspirational" board that will help me to remember (and note) the good things of each day (featuring the too adorable "booted racket-tail hummingbird"):

Then there's the fabulous raven flying in front of a setting sun -- but what you can't tell from the pics is that the sunset (sky, water, clouds) are made from raven-y text (such as Poe's "The Raven"):

So many lovely new birdies to brighten my days -- thank you, charlieandwillow!

And an awesome mixed media piece feature bluebirds, a winged bathing beauty, robot!, beach, and glitter. Cheesy

Then there's the "these colors are perfect for me" bag:

And the card that made Mr. Jivvy guffaw.  Cheesy

*breathes massive sigh of relief*

I am so happy/relieved/glad/excited that you like everything. This swap did cause me far too much stress...

The Raven piece was a bit of a labour of love. With the exception of the raven itself, all of the colour is text from Poe's poem, with each colour on a separate layer of acetate. On that note, for the love of spaghetti hoops, do not take it out of the frame as the layers aren't joined together in any way.

As an aside, did you know that the booted racket tail hummingbird is the evil twin of the equally-fabulously-named Marvelous Spatuletail which is remarkably similar in appearance and sadly endangered? I'd never head of either prior to this swap so while researching the booted racket-tail (ok, I looked it up on wikipedia...) I stumbled across that moderately interesting tidbit. I definitely have two new birds to add to my list of favourites...

ha, I was not wearing my reading glasses when I was looking at the text... so the only bits I could truly read were the water bits.  Cheesy

Marvelous Spatuletail

Oh yes -- I love them both, but the booted racket-tail won first place (for me) because of his floofy boots.  Cheesy

I received from Gr33nT3a today and HOLY MOSES!!  This girl has some mad artistic skill and made me some incredible goodies that I will forever treasure! Wanna see? This will be a ton of pictures so I'll be putting a few in Thumbnails as to not overwhelm some with uploading.
First the box..for reals. (click on the picture to make it bigger)

This was on the top...sooo cool.  Check the whole box out!

the box was covered in birds!
Yeah..I was totally excited to rip into the box but I didn't want to ruin my peacock!! I was gentle...sort of.  Grin  NEXT!  Everything wrapped up...

I sooo ripped into that...well kind of..she had it wrapped up tight! It was coming across the big blue. Everything was protected well.  Now some bigger pictures!!!
Check this out...

a Blue Jay and can I say...AWESOME! this girl can seriously draw! I can barely do stick figures. I very much appreciate those who can make something come to life on paper. Speaking of coming to life...

A Spotted "Rufous-sided" Towhee. One of my favorites painted on a pillow. Looks like it can fly right off of there! I adore this and I am in AWE..........and it's mine.  Grin  NEXT!
This is by far...so cool. I collect little bird figurines and check this out...
And Egg Diorama. I cannot tell you how cool this is and I will treasure it always. I suck at pictures so I hope you can see how awesome this is...

and the back side..

That's a REAL egg folks, that's a little robin in there!...I can't imagine the time and patience it must have taken to do this. It's in a place where I can see it all the time. Smiley
And last but certainly not least are some feather earrings...very pretty

and some little extras...Hawaiian candy!

I am soooo happy!  These are things I will treasure always...thank you thank you thank you Gr33nt3a.   Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley Smiley
