Hello everyone,

Prepare to be very jealous, as I have received an amazing package from bekibutton...



Three fantastic decorations! With a tag telling me they are called Otis, Penelope & Raoul!









Look at the great stitching!

Two brilliant bags!  Firstly Wilfred the Wagtail! Pied wagtails are my fave bird, delicate stitching & great use of fabric to show the feathers.





And secondly, Hartley the Herring gull!  Herring gulls always make me laugh, bekibutton has captured the facial expression of a gull perfectly!





A secret box, that rattled...



Inside - buttons galore!  In my favourite colours!  Both me & bekibutton have a thing about buttons - thank you!  I shall have fun playing with these

So glad you like all the items!

I made the decorations after seeing the guinea pig ones you made on your blog, so hopefully they will all go together OK Should probably mention that they're based on patterns from a Craftster member (downeastthunderfarm) who has created quite a selection of felt bird ornament patterns. I modified the robin and puffin to European colours but the owl is essentially the same.

I really enjoyed making the tote bags so will definitely be trying out some other designs at some point. They were inspired by the free-motion embroidery on your blog!

The extras entailed a very fun spree through Paperchase (my fave), so you almost didn't get them as I wanted to keep them all for myself

What a great first package! I actually snorted a little at the button porn comment though.

I really like the tote bags. I've made some birds before in a similar way and I found that messy kind of free embroidery seems to really suit birds!

My favorite is the gull tote. His expression it's just perfect. That little owl pretty blissful too though.

Wooo I received from Trekky today!

I got a selection of colour coded packages and a bird postcard explaining that the red ones were crafts and the pink ones were extras. My cat was very interested in them!



The first 'made' item was a gorgeous needle book with a very very cute picture of a budgie embroidered beautifully on the front. I love budgies!




Then a very bright crocheted bird - it reminds me of a chicken ornament I had, which is very appropriate as I used to keep chickens, and ran chicken-keeping courses Also, it has buttons for feet!


The piece de resistance: a handmade kakapo notebook, in lovely bright colours! If you don't know what a kakapo is, I urge you to check this video out

Speaking of which, Trekky outdid herself with the 'extras' she sent by finding this comic with a kakapo on the front!!



And inside, it mentions Codfish Island, where I volunteered for a fortnight!


She also sent me a cool owl pen (the same as one I almost sent to her in my swap package!), some Scottish tablet and some very cool bird buttons. My other cat was interested in these bits!
