SO - I was having a really seriously grumpy bad day yesterday.
 Angry GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr

So I decided to sew something simple to cheer me up (and feel like I was able to accomplish something other than telling my kiddos to stop hitting each other and go to their rooms... I mean, seriously.

And out of that came: The Simple Satchel!

It really is simple. Just a long strap, satchel bag. Little box pleat detail, single large button closure, and curtain grommets to attach the straps to (it's my new fave thing).

It's lined, just one large compartment with 2 pockets, one on each side.

Voila! Makes me feel a little bit better.

Now, if you'll excuse me, my 4 year old is trying to give my 2 year old an earring. Ugh. Boys!

C&C Welcome,
Tea.

What a great satchel!  I really like it - the color is great, too!

I love the use of the curtain grommets!
It's got a lovely shape, and the pleat is a really nice detail that I would never have thought to include.

The colour goes so nicely with the to you're wearing in the snapshot as well!

Ooh, just the kind of bag I like!  Big, easy to make, can carry all your stuff and leaves your hands free to deal with the kiddos.  Nicely done!

I am an apologist for the spiders.

Just treat me no differently than you would the Tarantula Queen.

Thanks all! I haven't used it yet, but my black and white purse (my Mama's got a brand new bag, bag) REALLY needs a wash again (my kiddo spilled something on it - thank goodness it washes well!) so I think I may be using the Simple Satchel for a couple of days. I too love a good hands free bag every now and then! SO important when you've got wacky kiddos!
