This is one of my early plushies; a pin cushion hedgehog with the spikes made from pins

He is made from felt, stuffed with polyester filling, and was hand-sewn

Here he is without his spikes. He looks a bit bald, but he's much more cuddly!

I used my own pattern, which i later adapted to make my badger and pigs

Here's my badger on my blog http://www.whatastitchup.com/?p=58
and on Craftster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=409464.0

Here's my pigs on my blog http://www.whatastitchup.com/?p=168
and on Craftster http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=408500.0

For more information and photos of my hedgehog please visit my blog http://www.whatastitchup.com/?p=295

I realise that he's not really a plaything as such, even though his new owner does play with him!

I think I might remake him, but with softer (and more cuddly) spikes. Any ideas on how to do this?

What a cute hedgehog!

As for an idea how to create pins: you could sewn triangles strips of fabric on like this.

Or small strips like this.

You get the idea! Good luck!

You're welcome  Smiley !

And yes, the pink one is very, very cute! But so is yours!

I find it hard to stick needles or pins in something so cute, hahaha  Cheesy
