So I was trolling pintrest boards and found a number of pins for things like a jar of craft sticks that each have a date night idea with different colored sticks for different cost dates, etc., a list of 50 date night ideas, a date night in a box with a scavenger hunt, prompts to make a list of things you love about your significant other and a board game.  I started thinking that it might be fun to make something like this but it would lose some of the sense of surprise if I made these things for me and DH.  So...what about a DIY Date Night Swap?

I think these date night craft ideas are very cool but you could go many different directions with this.

  • make an "intimate" game
  • a kit for a date to include things like bouquet of flowers with a book of favorite recipes for dinner and prompt for an activity after dinner
  • a breadfast in bed date- recipes for breakfast in bed, crossword puzzles that have romatic clues, a vase for a flower, a set of matching coffee/tea mugs, mug rugs, favorite teas or coffee blends
  • a sexy date kit with things like pasties, a willy warmer, etc

and probably a ton of other ideas that my little brain can't come up with but I know you clever crafters can come up with.

Any one interested?

I like it.  It is hard for me to come with things for the DH and I to do together but I love thinking of things for others.  This would be awesome.

I'm looking for wrist watches or old clocks. Broken or working, doesn't matter! I will swap anything you would like.

This would be fun if the timing was right (early-mid August)

August is fine, I didn't really have a timeframe in mind.  I just wanted to see if there was anyone else interested.   Grin

OH MY GOSH! I really really need something like this! My DH and I have been on the rocks that last couple months due to no time for ourselves, among other things. Honestly, this couldn't have come at a better time. PM ME when this might be getting underway!! IDC if it's only a four person swap. PM ME!  Cheesy

This would be so great!  I find that when we are home I end up crafting while my guy ends up watching TV... not very conducive to relationship building, but it's hard to come up with other things!

I also think he would be more keen to do it if it was someone else's idea-- it's somehow less cheesy than if I suggest something, I think.  There's a blogger who did something called 'Project 52-- Dating my Husband for a Year' that has some really cute ideas.  I especially like the ones that replicate a night out while still at home, and I remember one where they each designed their dream house and then worked on one together.  Oh, and one where they drew each other that was kind of hilarious.

I love the idea of putting together a project (or even a few projects) to do when you're all out of ideas or just need something fresh!

I am a product-oriented crafter and spend a lot of time on my items (believe it or not!)  I am interested in personal swaps with folks who have common interests and standards.  I love textiles, texture, and rugged-meets-vintage-meets-luxe.

Yay some more interest.  I'm thinking I'll post sign ups the first week in August.  I'm thinking 4 weeks of crafting time.  What does everyone think?
