So, it's past midnight here, which means it's Friday! Since I'm full of happy spinning related feelings coupled with the fact that I'm a night owl, I figured I'd go ahead and kick us off. I'm just excited to see what everyone else is doing! I've been spinning for the Tour de Fleece. I've scoured my first fleece and carded part of it. It's been a great week and I'm grateful to have found out about the TdF. Thank you, my lovely crafster spinners!

Here is some of the fleece. It's an awesome tan color. Other bits will have parts of caramel color going on.

Here is the silk I dyed and spun. I ended up with two skeins worth. Which was nice, and it's super pinkish.

This is some super pretty fiber that I'll spin up over the next few days. It was my b-day gift to myself.

ooo I LOVE the grey and pink/purple batt!  I've been trying to make grey with my dyes but no matter how little black I use it's still black. Sad

That IS a lovely batt! What techniques will you use to spin it?

It's been ages since I've posted...

For Granddad - Striping 2ply Bamboo Merino 8oz 154yd

Lid It - 2ply Merino Alpaca Llama 6.7oz 92yd

The Suits - 2ply Alpaca Shetland wool blend 5.9oz 88yd

The last one is full of guinea hen feathers from a farm I was working on. Beautiful creatures!

Thanks! Nesse, all of your yarn is lovely! I wish I knew how to take such great pictures too. Smiley I don't actually know...techniques persay. I just started spinning, and that's what I've been doing. I want to ply, I just need to read about it to figure out how to do it the right way.

Breabadair, if you want to get your feet wet technically, you could get The Intentional Spinner by Judith Mackenzie.  It's FULL of technical and wonderful how to's.
