that's so pretty!  My Ao Dai is a great hot pink colour..but i'm wayyy to scared to attempt one myself!  It looks great on you, but aren't dark colors usually reserved for older women or married women and not young women?  Oh well, it looks awesome on you and you should be proud of what you made!
Thanks!  Hot pink rocks in photos Cheesy.  Oh, I didn't realize that there were age and color rules, I just thought that older women are afraid of "young" colors.  I've read about the darker colors for older women and men rule on some website on japanese clothing.

Wow! I get all my ao dai from my grandma, but your's is so amazing!!! It's so well tailored your your body! And I love the fabric (I would wear those colors, but they're too "old" for me). It looks breathable too. Is it tight around the right shoulder (by the clasps)? I always feel most ao dai are tight at that spot.

Once again, AMAZING job.

First, thanks!  Does your grandma make them for you?  I haven't noticed a particular tightness in that area, but in general, ao dais' are tight.  The material choice can make a difference.  You could opt for one made out of chiffon, I find this type of fabric is "stretchy" enough to be both form fitting and motion friendly. Cheesy

Gorgeous! I'm going to be trying to make one very soon. I am half Vietnamese and my dad is 6 feet tall. So I ended up 5'8". They don't have ready made ao dai that fit me properly in Little Saigon. I always end up in an XXL and they are always FAR TOO SHORT. LOL! I can't justify having one custom made (unless my family goes to visit Vietnam any time soon) because I'm a sewer.
