Wink Cheesy Hello everyone , I whipped up this quick lil dress the other night , It was so quick , literally took less than an hour ! its only 4 identical pieces , basically a rectangle that dips in at the center ( to fit at the waist )

If anyone is interested I can make a tute

thanks for looking , have a great day

p.s. the belt isnt necessary I just liked the look of it , but the dress has a great fit without it

TUTE added  Cheesy

NOW TAKE FUN PICS OF YOURSELF WEARING YOUR GREAT NEW DRESS , AND POST THEM SO WE CAN ALL ADMIRE THEM

please let me know if you have any questions about the tute
I hope its clear and understandable

Have a great day
Jayne

I'd be interested in a tute, It's a lovely dress and looks like it'd be ok for a beginner dressmaker like me!

This might be a silly question, but how long should the pieces be? Just from my shoulder to however long I want the dress to be?

yep , the length is up up you , just measure from your shoulder to where you want the dress to hit ( any where from mini to maxi or any length in between just remember to add a little extra for seam allowances and hem )

I'm wondering how you did the vneck.  Does it have a facing or did you trim the excess fabric and hem?

That's so cute! I haven't made clothes in years but I want to try this. Any suggestions on fabric? Just something with some stretch?

I just left the neck line raw because its a knit that doesnt fray it just rolls under .. but you could trim or hem it if you want

If I actually measure properly, I might manage to make this.

I have some particularly gruesome (but funky) stretch fabric that I got dirt cheap on ebay that could work well ......

I made one!!!  For once my threat to make something based on tutorial was not idol. I did it.
I have to thank you. The pattern was so easy to make and now that I have the pattern I think I could make a whole fleet of dresses using different fabrics and maybe changing the collar Grin.

You can find my post here.

Nothing says love like making three posts in a row  Wink.
But I had to post one more time because I made another dress. I saw some cute fabric on sale and I just could not help myself. Plus since I already had the pattern cut it was super quick.
Here it is:

Thanks again violentjayne!!!

Definitely cute and easy to whip up. I'm a little concerned to do this since I'm short-wasted and have gigantic hips, but I'm going to do it, anyway.

Ok, so I have made a version with flaws (I didn't match the pattern on the fabric for starters), and a poor foto, I don't do posing well.

I also don't own a belt which would make it cinch better, so a better pic is promised when I have this and am not wearing trousers underneath.
