We started seeds saved from last year's best tomato specimens the second week of January under lights.  They were potted up in our greenhouse in April then transplanted in May.  We're at peak season now, and really enjoying the fruits of our labor.  Smiley  They're surrounded by a batch of canned dill pickles on the left and some freshly picked shallots on the right.  I love summer!

We have around 100 assorted heirloom tomato plants, between our back deck and the raised beds.  I sell what we can't eat, can or freeze at our farmer's market.

Oh, I'm so jalous. This year, my tomato plants keep being attacked by fungus, do you have any advice? also, how often do you fertilize them?

You can do a search on 'tomato disease' to help identify what your issue is and find the solution.  Here's an example, with photos.  http://www.ext.colostate.edu/PUBS/Garden/02949.html

We fertilize and also apply neem oil (an organic plant-based pest repellant) once a week.  They get watered twice a day.

Yum, makes all your hard work worthwhile!

We have a tiny but sunny balcony where I'm growing salad leaves. You've inspired me to attempt tomatoes next year.

Very jealous! It's so windy here, every time I've planted tomatoes they have blown over and been destroyed!

Thank you for the help. I only apply neem once or twice a month and water less and do not give them nutrients. I am out to take better care of them today.
