Hi,
I have 2 Serger's in my possession, and am wondering if 1 may be better than the other and I can pass the other one along.

Babylock 097 has no manual, looks good, we're still trying to figure out how to thread it properly and set the tensions.

Singer Ultralock 14 U 34 has a manual that was dropped in water, so I can't read some of it.  It is also missing the front free arm cylinder cover.  The lady who passed it to me said she had been using it.

Any opinions on what may be the better machine?  My hubby thinks the Babylock looks to be made a little sturdier but I have having great difficulty getting a manual.
Thanks for your opinions!

Regarding the threading the baby lock  : no colour path  that you can see  on the machine itself ?

I have a different type , and there are small dots if you open it so you can see where to go with the thread

We managed to get them both threaded and did a trial strip of cloth in both.  Figured out the right stitch spacing and they seem to be ok.

Now I guess I need to decide on which one to keep and hope I make the right decision.

Still wishing for a manual so I'd know what the machine is capable of...
