Snitch Tea Cozy

I made this project for the portkey challenge in the HP Craftalong, and it solved a serious problem I sadly suffer from...naked teapots!  

Base Cozy from Free Pattern: Tea Cozy Pattern by Sticky Fingers  

Note: I double layered for extra insulation. I just made 2 tea cozies & stitched together when adding edging with added slst around bottom. (H hook for main and black wool-ease worsted)

My Improvised Snitches: (Sewn on)
yellow body (G hook) ch2, 7sc in 2nd ch, slst to join
white wings (E hook) ch 8, slst (in 2nd ch), slst, sc, hdc, sc, slst, slst…the flip to other side slst, slst, sc, hdc, sc, slst, slst & FO

Tie: I altered the tie and made 101 chs and then sc in the 2nd ch from hook & sc across. Tied in back.

Love your tea cosy.  I also need to make another as my fabric ones are all getting old and worn.  Also bought ones are never quite the right size.
