I do a lot of cooking on the weekends and decided to make myself a little herb garden. I was planning to fix up a couple of pots of herbs on my back porch, but went overboard picking up plants at Calloway's when I found a bunch of $2 clearance plants there.

I then decided to build a raised bed and before I new it I had built this.



Features include an elevated bed, screened enclosure and a solar powered watering system.





I also wrote a hopefully funny story about making this thing here. Warning, there is a six-foot inflatable snake in the story.  Smiley

So far everything seems to be working fine.The solar powered watering system was the only thing I was really worried about.
It is hooked up to a 5 gallon bucket and the solar pump pumps water every 3 hours to 12 drip heads in my 16" by 4' bed. You can set the pump for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30 minutes. Currently I am using the 10 minute setting and it seems to be pumping 2.5 gallons a day and the herbs seem to be doing great.

I don't think so, I refill it each morning. It is under the raised bed so it is not in direct sunlight. Of course it has been 100+ here in Fort Worth.  Cheesy
