These necklaces are all made from vintage pieces (aka mostly thrift-store finds Wink) as well as resin cabochons I've made using a variety of methods.

This one used to be a layered-chain tassel necklace. The Evil Eye in the center is painted into resin (in layers) over a background of gold leafing. The shell beads dangling from the chain are attached using wire.

This used to be some sort of hideous gypsy coin necklace. Scrapped the coins and kept the chain. The scarab stamping is a separate piece of brass than the crescent shape it's attached to (using E-6000 of course). I used the tassel which was originally on the necklace above. The bead and bead caps were all found on Etsy.

This cabochon was made to look like a black opal. I used translucent cellophane bits layered over a black background to get the opalescent effect. The "setting" is just a length of wire wrapped around and glued down. The spikes are acrylic and were quite a steal on Ebay.

More or less thrown together from the leftovers of these projects. Another handmade resin cabochon. This one doesn't have a background like the black opal. Instead i used a small amount of loose white eyeshadow mixed into resin (along with a layer of the cellophane behind it) to get the look of a white opal. And more of those amazing acrylic spikes.

The black opal cabochon necklace is so beautiful.  I love how you were able to get the cabochon so pretty and opalescent!
