I feel like this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer right now!

How do you keep proof of sending when your sending within your own country (that is not the states??)
Its easy when you send overseas because you have the customs slip. But if your sending within Canada (like me) then how do you show proof? Our tracking numbers are super expensive and they don't exactly give you a receipt for your other packages. Thoughts anyone? I always have anxiety that my package will get lost and I will have no proof to show I sent. (other then the picture of the items I sent).

Do your receipts say when you shipped and where you shipped to? I'm pretty sure that'd do it. Smiley Let's have a swap mod weigh in, though.

They don't give you a receipt in Canada? USPS will give you a receipt that at least shows you mailed a package, and usually its general destination (i.e. the zipcode).

Yep! They give us receipts! But... I just looked at a receipt that I got the other day and it doesn't have the postal code/ zip code on it. But it does have the date and the weight/ size of the package/ mode of shipping on it.

I always fax a copy of that and send it to the organizer alongside the copy of the customs form (for international packages) to the organizers of the swaps that I have participated in.

I was thinking I should just snap a pic of the postal worker with my package from now on! That would be proof right? The receipts are pretty vague like someone said above. Nothing to say it was my actual swap package!

Within Sweden there's no way to know really, without buying insurance for the letter. If you mail the package as a letter you need to buy a tracking number, if you send it as a package you get a tracking number.

If you don't... The receipt normally just say "stamps" or something like that.

I used to take tons of photos of the package with stamps and receipt... But it doesn't really say anything. From now on I think I'll either buy tracking or be prepared to resend if anything goes missing and it's a small swap.

a printed receipt from the post office that has the date on it and shows that you paid for a package to be mailed on the day that you said you mailed is proof enough.   so if you pm your organizer that you sent on July 2, then your receipt should have that date as well.

Good to know! I'll start saving that receipt then. I never did in the past since it didn't give any real info!
