Small Pops, Huge Difference (Covering Faceplates)
«

In the past 24 hours, I've covered 16 faceplates for outlets and light switches. I think I'm Mod Podged out for a good while, but the subtle bits are really helping our (work in progress fixer upper of a) house come somewhat together.
Thanks for letting me share!

Wow, those look great! I assume it's paper, am I correct? I wonder if you could use fabric? I'm going to bookmark this so I remember to try it in my soon-to-be craft room.

Thank you! Yep, I used scrap paper. It was way cheaper for me and I love the crisp corners.
YES! You can DEFINITELY use fabric! I'm assuming you'd have to use a better adhesive than Mod Podge, but you could definitely do it! There's tutes all on Pinterest with doing it on scrap paper, and I wrote one that followed through the process on my blog. You should definitely give it a try!

Thanks! The first 2 sets are in my living room and kitchen. It REALLY makes a difference in the kitchen especially, contrasting to the white tile backsplash.

Thanks! The edges are all about the cuts and folds you make. Clean cuts + Clean folds = Clean edges. You just have to watch using thicker paper, because it tends to slightly tear. Kind of a pain, but once you clear coat them, you can hardly tell.

The previous owner of our home did sometime like that to a hallway wall. He just kind of wrapped it a few times and folded the edges, then taped it down. It was falling apart and looked like a mess. He did that to...well, pretty much everything in the house lol. But you could definitely do it with wallpaper!
