So one day a few years back I was at a thrift shop when I found the neatest little dress. It was kind of short on me, but I liked the colour of the skirt, and it was cheap, so I bought it, thinking I could lengthen the skirt a little.
Then it sat in my closet. For three years.
Last week I finally bought enough lace to wrap around the bottom of the skirt, so I decided to finish up the dress. It looked like this (excuse the pyjamas):

But after trying it on again, I realized that the top of the dress really just didn't look right. So after some thought, I ripped the seams from the bodice and decided to make it a skirt. The dress already had a waistband complete with ties, so all I had to struggle with was shortening the zipper a little, but it actually wasn't so bad! And now I have this wonderful skirt to wear! (Those little things sticking out the bottom are just the ties on the back):

Sidenote: I definitely need to practice sewing more. My seams were always slightly crooked. Undecided

Thanks for looking! Comments/critiques always appreciated!

It looks really great as a skirt and it has changed it's character completely.

Much cuter! I agree there was something just a bit strange about the bodice. Good job, and keep it up Cheesy

Dresses are always too short on me. Making it into a skirt was brilliant.
