Thank you! No, I watercolor after all the stitching is done. I have thought to try to do it before so I can work any overbleeding into the design, but I use a water-soluble pen for the design so I haven't quite figured out how to make it work.

I love the watercolor shading on your hoops.  I'm very inspired to try something similar.  I'm not into hoops, tho.... I'm wondering about embroidering something like pillowcases or something, and using acrylic (watered down to allow better blending)...

They're awesome! I especially love the ones that are painted with watercolors (and the narwhal is so cute!)
