A very long while ago I bought a hideous jewelry box because I KNEW it was destined for greater things. After four years of starting and stopping this project I'm finally done!

I covered the whole thing with sewing pattern paper and handpainted butterflies, moths and ladybirds on it.

I knocked out the glass and replaced it with paper covered in lace and an old button.

Now the inside!

The girl and all the butterflies are paper, the ladybugs and toadstools are paperclay, the acorns, mushrooms sprouting from the sides and moss are all natural.

Wow. I read the title and saw the thumbnail of the unopened piece and my jaw was already dropping. This is incredibly beautiful. Your pieces are so amazing and you take such care in them. Truly amazing.
