Craftster Photo-hosting Wishlist?

When uploading multiple photos, I'd love to be able to select them all at once rather than Choose File > Click image > Open x 5.  It would be AWESOME if we could just select five on one screen and voila!

Oh see I'd like more than 5! Sometimes those tutorials take lots of photos!

Oh, I'd definitely like more than five, too.  I was just using our current number as an example and stuck with it.   More more!

If you click on MY Picture Hosting, you go to your photos, but when you upload photos they seem to go into a general photo stream, through which you have access to everything that has recently been uploaded. This doesn't seem especially secure.

While you officially can upload up to five photos at a time, I find it rarely works with more than three. Instead of uploading, it just grinds for a few minutes and then returns to the blank upload page. Then you have to try it all again. And since you can't drag-and-drop or select multiple files, it's a slow process!

Also we currently have the option of entering keywords for the whole block of photos you're uploading, but it doesn't seem to work - they don't actually get attached to the photos.

One of my beefs with the photo hosting is the number of steps it takes to get there. I'd rather not have to go to "My Craftster", then "My Picture Hosting", then "upload pictures". (On the up-side, the old user interface that the picture hosting still retains does let you go to your bookmarks in one click, which I wish we could do from the Craftster home page.) Let's have a single home page button for "Upload Pictures".

Would being able to send a picture on a camera directly to Craftster photohosting be part of this?  Because if so, I would love that like woah.

Also, I second (or maybe it's third or fourth by now) the choose multiple files at once/upload more than 5 at once and folders.  I also would like to not have to click to do many different places to be able to upload them! (Good thought, Wulf!)

I'd like to upload bigger pics, but mostly because my phone takes huge pictures and I'm rather lazy about resizing them. Alas.

As a mod, I'd like an easier way to find a user's gallery so I can insert their pics for them (new members)

Well, the photos actually do go into your area, but there's also a way to view them as a stream of recent pictures. I'm not the best person to tell you when and how you get to what!  In general though, the photo hosting is not actually meant to be private. Unlike Flickr or Photobucket where you can select your privacy levels, it's sort of like posting in the forums, it's available to the public. The reasoning being that whatever you put in your photohosting is most likely also being posted in the forums anyway. You shouldn't have any ability to edit or change anyone else's pictures so no worries about that.

I don't generally have those problems but it's good to know that others do so that we can try to address it!

It would be nice for that to be simpler. Here's what I do (although it's still relatively convoluted).

I go to my own photo hosting: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=8228

See that 8228? That's my user number. Just replace that with the number of the user you want to see. So mio, if I wanted to go to your photos I'd go to your profile in another tab: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=77747

Then I'd go back to my other tab with the photohosting page and replace 8228 with 77747.

Let's see...my Craftster Photo Hosting Wishlist....

1. Of course to be able to upload more photos at one time.
2. Folders for organizing (would die of delight!)
3. Have the size limit upped (or ability to crop pic on-site to size limit maybe)
4. Better search  (I can never find what I'm looking for with current options)
5. And if I'm going to get all dreamy, photo editing abilities

...Did I mentioned I'm excited!?!!!

Well I can't guarantee that we can give everyone what they ask for but you can ask for anything.  Also, could you just select the files from your SD Card when you're uploading? I mean... I think I can but maybe we don't have similar cameras/systems.

I think it might be nifty if we could upload straight onto a post. maybe just have the pics be backed up in folders elsewhere.
