Loving all the suggestions - count me in on wanting editing features, a widget like for photobucket, the ability to organize photos/folders, and no limit to file sizes.

I would love to be able to drag and drop from my computer to a craftster window.

When uploading multiple photos, I'd love to be able to select them all at once rather than Choose File > Click image > Open x 5.  It would be AWESOME if we could just select five on one screen and voila! Smiley

Once you open the upload dialogue, you can open your picture folder, mark the pictures you want to upload and drag them into one of the fields. The picture names are inserted as comma separeted list and once you hit upload the program recognizes there is more than one picture and opens the next dialogue accordingly   Cheesy

Could you tell me what browser you use when executing that process?  That has never worked for me, unfortunately. Sad

And..what does the stuff you write about the pic actually do? Not the title or tag, I get that.  But the big box. I never see those posted on craftsters anywhere.  I spent hours trying to be eloquent in the Big Box when I first started.  Now I post the swap and the maker if it's not me. But does it actually DO anything?

The system wasn't designed for us specifically so for the way Craftster is laid out it really doesn't do much. It describes the photo but only within photohosting. It's more useful for other sites that use the system in different ways.

And..maybe this is being said and I'm not clear on it...only being doing photo thingies since I joined craftsters...it would be cool if some how I could intergrate my bloging photos better with craftsters.  By the time I get through posting here, that part of my brain is tired and wants not to blog.  If I could some how use them here from my blog, or use them from here to my blog, it would make it less treadmill like.  Not in the trying to sell things way of course Grin

Well, it's just a different type of coding (html vs bbcode). In theory you can use the exact same verbiage and photo links and just change the code from html to bbcode or vice versa.

Will the photo-hosting feature continue to serve only its current purpose, or does the entity of Craftster.org want it to become something more?

At this point I don't think we have any grander purposes planned, we just want to make it easier for people to use (which hopefully means more posts and more photos. Smiley).

I don't have many complaints about it as-is, but if the hope is to draw more web traffic to the photo galleries and give them a life of their own, a lot of improvements would be called for. I know I'm not the only person who uses the Photo-hosting feature as a dumping place repository for my Craftster pics without putting the time in to adequately describe the images so others can find them. Since they're going straight into a discussion post, and since hardly anyone else adds description/tags either, it doesn't seem too important, as long as I know what I have.

Yea, that's fine. That's how most people use it I believe and we're cool with that.

One thing I like about the current photo-hosting is that the look of it takes me back to Craftster days of yore. There's nothing wrong with the current Craftster layout, but I'm still fond of the corkboard background and such.  Good memories. Smiley

I love that corkboard...

I'd love to be able to upload straight from my iphone! Not sure if this is already possible? I tried the other day and it wouldn't let me:(

I haven't tried this but in theory I would think it'd work... I'll try to remember to test it out on the hubby's phone later.

So, This is totally weird, but the other day I just copied and pasted my craftster post (after it was published) into my blog and it copied the pics and the text. I was just trying to copy the text and figured I would need to upload my pics, but the whole thing pasted! This was in Blogger.

I don't know if this has been said.

It might just be something I'm doing wrong, because I'm new to the site, but it gets rather tedious to have to upload photos then copy and paste them to whatever thread you're showing them on. It would be great if you could somehow eliminate the copy and paste part. I usually end up forgetting what pictures I have and haven't posted, and it takes me 20 minutes to post 3 pictures.

I don't think that's a problem with Craftster photo hosting specifically, that's just what you have to do for any photo hosting site.

An upload widget pop-up owould make the copy/paste easier though Cheesy

I would love to do tutes but the limit of 5 images is tedious. I would love to be able to upload as many as 20 at a time, directly to the post. This is why I don't do tutes.
