Happy Friday, everybody!

This week, I've been using up my current stock of crazy carded batts, until I can beg, borrow or steal access to a drum carder again. These yarns use a little bit of everything--wool, alpaca, angelina, recycled threads...

These have been super fun to work on. Batts feel like such a spontaneous way to spin.

Pretty Pretty!  I need a drum carder too..one of my big wishes.

I've been itching to spin...but I'm waiting till the tour de fleese starts. I'm hoarding my fiber till then.  I think it starts tomorrow...so yay!

Your yarns are lovely! I'm renting a drum carder from my LYS, just because I don't know anyone who has one that I can borrow.

These are all yarns from last week. I missed fiber friday, because the weather was poor which hindered my lighting, so no pictures.

The first is the yarn I spun last Thursday with an 82 year old spinner. She was really awesome, and it was great to spin with someone else. She let me use two different colors of Navajo-Churro wool. I loved it, so much so that I bought a raw fleece to use. Along with that yarn I have some black Norwegian Top in there, and some random white wool, I didn't write down what I bought at the store, so it's a mystery until I go back. I call it my Franken-yarn since it's pieced together from different stuff, but not artistically like art yarns/batts.



This was Lincoln Top that I dyed with food coloring ages ago. I ended up getting two bobbins worth, which was nice. It makes me think of candy, like skittles. I hated spinning it. It felt like doll hair and made my fingers raw.

Breabadair, I know how you feel a bout lincoln.  It's so coarse.  But the colors are gorgeous!
