My first hand-made sketchbook!
Pretty small, about 6"x8" and about 3/4" thick. Black leather on the front brushed with copper paint for the gears, and then cut-out feathers detailed with more leather paint. Also a nifty little bookmark made with a real peacock feather and a gear!

This book is actually for a project that I am starting. I will be painting on the first page then mailing to book to another artist, they paint then they mail, so on and so forth. I have about 50 people signed up so almost all the pages will be filled!

This is lovely, and I love the idea of different artists filling it.

Lovely! It looks really well made, and I love the feathers! I hope we'll see photos of the book again once it's filled? Smiley

Most likely! I can't wait to see the book again!

how did you make it?

I kind of followed this tutorial here: http://browse.deviantart.com/art/Bookbinding-Tutorial-292237490
I had a friend helping me out as well. Surprisingly a lot easier than I thought it would be! I'm even making another book soon, a hand-made guest book for my grandmother's 70th surprise birthday. Smiley
