So I was commissioned by a friend to make some regalia for a fundraiser-Powwow. I'm not Native American and had no idea what I was making at first. Google was my friend in helping get all the pieces made.  Wink These were made very, very simple as they were my first and I only had a week to make them. So there isn't any beadwork or ribbonwork on them. I've still got some small adjustments to make and may add a few more pieces too.

Grass Dance Regalia. He was so excited to wear this. lol He kept spreading out his arms so the wind would blow the ribbon around.  Cheesy

I went through tons of ribbon for this regalia. It's 12 inches long and goes all around the yoke and both the front and back breechcloths. There is also some on his side tabs and cuffs. If we could have afforded it I would've put on more.

A pic of all the empty ribbon spools. lol

I also made a Jingle dress, but didn't quite get it finished.  Sad In this pic it wasn't hemmed and the sleeves aren't finished. I also have about 40 more jingles to put on it. I've since got it hemmed but I need more bias tape for the rest of the jingles.

I combined a couple different patterns to get the underdress as I didn't really like the one I was given...

It will have 100 jingles when I'm finished. Which is really on the low end. These dresses usually have at least 250 jingles. BTW, jingles are made from snuff can lids! They aren't bells.  Wink

Here's a pic of them in their Regalia dancing an Inter-tribal dance.  Cheesy

Thanks for looking! C&C are appreciated.  Smiley

Beautiful work on the grass dance regalia, it's gorgeous! The jingle dress is cute, too.
