so the fabulous knickertwist was kind enough to agree to partner with me in the iyp swap! and since she got her package, i thought i'd share! here is a little day of the dead shrine type thingy i made for her! i started with a little pinewood shelf i got from the dollar store... i painted it up, then filled it with goodies!

it was almost entirely assembled from bits n bobs from my whimsy stash ~ the hardest part was just deciding what to put where! =) i only wish i'd been able to photograph it to show the depth a little better! hope you all enjoy!

this is what i started with!  http://www.dollartree.com/Wooden-Craft-Curio-Shelves/p307305/index.pro

So awesome, Erica! I wish I could explore your whimsy stash. It must be amazing Smiley. Great paint job!

This really is the BEST THING EVER! I'm going to try to get some better pics tomorrow and will post them if I manage to capture the depth of the piece.

i'd love to see some pics, knickers! your images are always so awesome! lol@ limeriot, yes my whimsy collection is kind of a living organism! it swells and recedes with the tides depending on what i've been up to.... was just looking at pics - this particular piece, in addition to stuff from my own collection, also has bits n bobs i've gotten in various swaps from lanikins, sheepblue, jonnamarco, and goodness knows who else!
