I drink a lot of water each day (1 - 2.5 gallons), so it's always nice to mix it up with some delicious flavors!  It's well into the 80s here today, so a refreshing combo like this was just the ticket.

Supplies
Apple (I prefer red since they are a bit sweeter)
Cinnamon sticks (I used three)
Water
Ice
Thirsty tummy

Steps
Slice one apple.  Toss into pitcher.

Toss 1 - 3 cinnamon sticks into pitcher.  I used three.

Fill with water.

Top with thick layer of ice.

Refrigerate 30 mins to overnight.  I refrigerated mine for an hour and it was just about right for me.  I am going to make another pitcher and try it overnight, though.  I think it will be delicious!

I gave mine a bit of a forceful stir with a wooden spoon to pull out some additional flavors from the ingredients.  Pour and serve with ice and apple slices. Smiley

I found the original recipe from this site via Pinterest! Smiley  Yummo inspiration!

How strong is the water infused with the apple? Just enough to be tasty or a hint of it that would not really matter? I'm asking because I have seen some of these on Pinterest, and have been interested in the idea because I am trying to find new ideas to ease me into constant water intake. Thanks in advance.

At 30 mins, with 3 sticks and 1 apple, it was a hint of flavor.  It was enough to be able to easily identify the two flavors, but not robust like a tea.  I think an overnight pitcher might be even more tasty.  I also have some cinnamon stevia that I could use to give it even more of a kick.

I just read an article about using essential oils to flavor water this morning - now this is another idea I must try!

oh I gotta try this! I love apples and cinnamon! I would definitely make mine overnight I love stronger flavors.. I've been curious about doing an cinnamon lemon infusing too or maybe mint and lemon it all sounds interesting to me and low cal + refreshing change from the plain old water I always drink and absolutely no weird chemicals! Cheesy
