[Help] What should I do with my crocheted gears?

I've crocheted a number of gears and merged them together, but I'm not really sure what to do with them. I first intended to make a shawl with them, but the gears are rather big for that, and really, how often does one use a shawl?


What would you do with these? I've got plenty of yarn to crochet a heap more gears, but as long as I don't know what to use them for, I figure crocheting more gears might not be the best way to use my time...

This length of gears is currently 47cm.

My first thought is to joing the Teesha Moore Patch swap. Lots of people want Steampunk patches. Those could be sew onto the patches. Or do a private swap for single gears for someone that is in the swap.

I really, REALLY like the scarf idea! But you could also make a purse and sew them along the strap, or you could always make a garland out of them. Attach them to a long pillow...That's all I've got for the moment.

You could keep stringing them along into a garland!

I would hang it on a wall.  It think it looks really cool.

I like the garland idea I think the gears are too big for TM-patches (though I'm not quite sure how big people make these patches) as wel as for the purse strap.

I believe I have woken from an instructional dream though, I was refashioning a second-hand wedding dress, and sewing these gears along the bottom of the skirt. I could do that with an ordinary skirt too, give it some more umph.

i like the scarf idea, but covering a large black matte pillow with them would also be pretty cool... i have no new ideas DX

They are little embellished quilt squares. They are a lot of fun to make. There are bunches of awesome TM projects here on Craftster.
