Better Late, or Early, Than Never.

I know it isn't Fiber Friday, but I'm feeling down today and wanted to visit craftster to lift my spirits.

A little background info, I purchased a spinning wheel of unknown make/model last summer for 75 dollars on craigslist. I had checked it out, everything looked intact. Upon getting it home, I couldn't for the life of me spin on it. I thought I was at fault, some strange inability to spin. Discouraged, I put it away until I could take a class at my LYS, which never came to fruition. School happened so I didn't have time for it, and it was a deep source of shame for me that I wasn't ready to face.

This summer I did some research, figured out who made it, and what was wrong quite recently, in fact. Once it was fixed I was spinning like I'd been doing it my entire life. I think it's been a week? At any rate, here is the result of my endeavors.

This is the first, I don't remember what kind of wool it is, but it's super soft.


This is the second. It's Norwegian Top, that I bought when I first got my wheel. I'm eventually going to spin up enough for a sweater for the man in my life. It's so fluffy, it's like spinning a cloud, a gray, shiny cloud.

p.s. your first spins deserve thier own thread!!! Well, all the yarns anyone makes do, really, wether it be thier 100th or 1000th or what ever ... But definitly your firsts!
