As a general rule, anything that isn't completely flat or very soft has to be sent in a padded envelope rather than a paper one. The problem is that letters are sorted by machine, and if there is anything solid and hard inside, the rollers just push it along until it bursts out. I'm always amazed that the postal service is able to reunite a shredded envelope with (usually) all its lost contents and get it back in the system. I always imagine lost beads and things bouncing off the conveyor belt and workers scrambling around the floor to collect them all. Cheesy But they usually do it somehow, and this time it didn't even delay delivery at all.

I'm glad the charm bracelet survived (mostly), because it's very nice.

Wulf, that is pretty amazing, plus I didn't know that's how they sort the envelopes.
Radmom, I think the bracelet is fixable too, even though I know it's not exactly what you sent anymore. I've got some pliers for re-attaching the charms left in the envelope.

That is what makes me mad, because the gentleman told me that he had to charge me MORE, (not that 20 cents was killing me here) to the fact that it was NOT MACHINABLE! So, you they charged me more, and still MACHINED it???

I received a lovely package from LA-Fairy today!

An overall shot- a very pretty hand made card, a woven bracelet and a wee fairy wing!

Inside the card a Wiccan summer blessing

A close-up of the bracelet...

Alas, the wee wing was broken in the post, but nothing a little bit of glue can't handle!
Thank you very much, LA-Fairy, for a thoughtful package!

Everyone has sent such beautiful things! I was hoping m Summer Solstice envelope would come in the mail today, but I got NOTHING... like as in no coupons or advertisements or anything, which never happens... Hopefully that just means I'll get tons of good things tomorrow! Wink

Oh, no! There wasn't a stencil or a ring.....the wee wing was busted on the end, so the ring must have been lost with the stencil. Darn it. This swap doesn't seem to have the best luck with the post.

Oh dear, the postal woes continue. And it really adds to the irritation that you got charged more, Radmom, for having your envelope busted!

I was hoping m Summer Solstice envelope would come in the mail today, but I got NOTHING... like as in no coupons or advertisements or anything, which never happens...

I know! The same thing happened here today! Maybe it's some kind of conspiracy. Wink
