I remember the last stuffed envelope swap I did on Flickr, we were all told to make sure our envies were covered front and back with packing tape to avoid ripping or tears.   Just thought I'd pass that along and see if you all thought that was a good idea too?

Oh yes!  I did that with all of my envies last round.  I actually made my envies out of card stock (took a regular one apart and traced it), glued the sides, then taped all the seams to reinforce them.  All of mine were going international, and I didn't want them to wind up empty and have sad swap partners.

Another neat trick we talked about last time was to attach as much as possible to a piece of paper in order to make things more stable in the envies.  It helped make them "flatter" all around, so they fit the 1/4 inch requirements.

Oh, that's an awesome idea with the taping things down to cardstock!!!   Ok, cool, definitely don't want things to go missing!!

last round I put everything in a plastic bag before putting it in the envelope, and taped the edges of the envelope before sending. I think all but 1 envie arrived safely, and the one that didn't, everything was intact in bag.

I often wrap things in plastic wrap before sending. Covering envelopes in packing tape is an excellent idea! Good to know it works for international ones too. Love that one of attaching things to paper as well.

I'll have to remember that when it's time to put things together and send. I don't think I would have that to do that on my own. Thanks!

Me too!  This is one of the few swaps that I don't sweat where I mail to!  Even over-stuffing as much as I did last time, my most expensive one was only $3.  I can certainly do that.
