Inspired by the amazing altered key post by craftster Serenthia (craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=399612.0) I decided to make use of some of my hoarded metal bits and charms and try out this "steampunk / industrial" thing that seems to be so popular with the kids these days.  : )  Fortunately my lovely grandmother sent me a huge stash of old house keys when the moved, so I had more than enough keys to alter.

I think the butterfly might be my favorite, just because of the way that the keyhole perfectly layered with the butterfly's body.  Happy accident!  Thanks so much for looking!

They're gorgeous! I especially love the butterfly and mother-of-pearl ones, the elements just fit together so seamlessly on those.

Wah!  Sorry I didn't see this before or I would have added it to your original thread.  I used Liquid Fusion, which is a "clear urethane glue" according to the bottle.  : )  I've been advised by "gluing things to other things" mentor to try E6000 for an even more lasting bond, but I find the applicator-less bottles to be intimidating.  She suggested i just put some in a plastic baggie and snip the tip off and apply it that way.  But I'm lazy so I think I'm just going to wait till my Liquid Fusion bottle is empty and use that.  What kind of glues do you use?  <3

Well, I have seen two different styles of E600 tubes. One, like a toothpaste tube, the regular stuff I buy at the art store. And recently a slightly smaller one with a pointed nozzle, at Dollar General, it's a bit pricier, but looks easier to use.  I love E6000, it is amazing stuff. I have some toothpicks I use if I need help spreading it around.

Ok, I'm sold!  Thanks for the tip about the E6000 coming in a smaller bottle.  I have to go out this AM and I'll check my local Dollar General to see if they have some.  If not, I guess I could "man up" and try the toothpick idea with the giant tube I have.  The Liquid Fusion is pretty good, but it's still not ideal and I keep getting stunning endorsements for E6000 (like yours!) so I think it's time.  Thanks so much for the tip!  <3
