My parents bought me a 45 inch LeClerc Mira counterbalance loom as an early birthday present. Along with that they allowed me to turn the living room into my studio. The woman we got the loom from made such beautiful rag rugs. I decided I had to try that too. Especially now that I have a loom big enough. It was a two day ordeal. Only because I purchased right-handed scissors and attempted to cut strips of fabric with them. Since I'm left-handed it became incredibly blistery and painful. But the loom and the rug weaving was amazing. The loom, is smooth, sturdy, and oh my goodness insanely quiet. My cat sits underneath while I weave. He likes to lay right under the treadles, bless his silly little heart.
But anyway, back to the rug. I had some fabric that I hadn't used in literally, years. One was green with a floral burnout pattern and the other was white/pink/purple blended with a wide variety of flowers, and it was made in France which I found neat. Once strip of green went for two rows of warp and one strip of the floral was good for three rows of warp. I decided that was lovely and went with it. It's 23"x50" It reminds me of Chantilly Tea Room that is in Tucson. It's always full of pink, lace, and flowers. So, without further ado, here's my lovely tea/garden inspired rug.
Here is a close up of the fabric so you can see how the colors actually are (my camera washes everything out).

Here is another on the loom shot.

And finally, completed. (I told you the camera washes the colors out)

I also have a cute picture of my other cat sitting on my rug, right after I finished it. She approved.

Thanks so much for looking.
