I made this for my partner, pjherbert, in the MAQ swap 5..... PJ had a very specific size (12x40 ish) that she wanted to hang above a window in her craft room and had a few different themes for me to choose from....I have done a few MAQ, quilts, mugrugs, placematts with different quilting/applique techniques..... but this is the first time I have turned all of the raw edges under and handsewn everything.

just wanted to share and see what you all think...





I had some of the leaves hanging over the binding....

seed beads in the middle of each of the buds...

beads for the eyes and a little embroidery...


it was a lot of hand stitching and totally worth it

Yep......it's mine all mine! I absolutely LOVE it! The amount of work that was put into it........it is just beautiful! I can't pick a favorite part I love it all!
