i made some drinking glasses out of beer bottles and left the labels on. well now that they're cut and sanded i want to put something on the outside to protect the labels like a glaze or paint....any suggestions?? it needs to be durable and food safe

The only thing I can think of is a few layers of 2 part resin just over the label and just the perimeter glass because I am not sure how food safe it is in the long run.  Even then, it would have to be gently hand washed because I am sure that washing in a dishwasher would cause it to scratch and pit in the long run.
