it's hard to say, because i cut and sewed three pairs assembly line style.  i normally quilt though and this was obviously much faster than that.  the pattern is actually not that complex, it looks much more difficult than it is.  if you don't quilt you will need to learn how to use binding, which again is not as hard as it sounds.  i would encourage anyone with sewing experience to try these.  i put leather on the bottom and thick padding so they actually can be worn outside if it is a dry cold.
