Here's the Mr Dangly that I knitted for my boyfriend for his birthday (which was yesterday). I made him look like a male White-cheeked Gibbon, as I'd also sponsored a gibbon at the zoo for my boyfriend as another present!

A has called him "Peter Manson" - an obscure reference from the old film "At the Edge of the World", directed by Michael Powell. (The lamb-chop sideburns are rather reminiscent of Mr Dangly's white facial fuzz!)

[P3, P2tog] repeat three times, P6, [P2tog, P3] repeat three times - 30 st.
Work 1 row.
[P3, P2tog] repeat three times, P3, [P2tog, P3] repeat three times - 24 st.

okay maybe i am just missing something, but i have a problem here.
in the first row here you end with 30 stitches, so in the next row that you are purling, when you add up the stitches (inorder to purl 3 then p2 together, you are using 5 stiches), shouldn't it be 30 stitches?  i keep adding up to 33 stitches.  Did anyone else run into this problem?  do you just leave out the p3 between the sets of p3 p2 together?
i hope this makes sense and i hope someone can help
thanks

C

I ran into problems with many of the decrease lines (numbers not adding up), so I pretty much improvised, and tried to make them symmetrical. I don't have the ammended pattern here, but I'll try to post my changes when I get home later...

Ditto.  I'm horrible at math, but I ended up crossing some stuff out and amending things to add up as well.  Essentially, if you just decrease the right number of times in each decrease row (by looking at the number below to see how many stitches should be left) you'll be golden. Smiley

Here to show off another Mr. Dangly.

Here he is with my first Dangly--it's amazing how much smaller Dangly Jr. turned out just due to a small yarn width change.

Hooray for all the Mr Danglies!  I LOVE Peter Manson, and those two guys above are cool too.  I am tempted to make another one myself!  I still don't have one!

I made one of these as a birthday gift for my husband's friend (he's obsessed with monkeys).  My husband knitted him a blue scarf but we forgot to take pictures with it.

He was fun to make.  I want to make another but this time in the round.  I'm thinking of using Lion Brand suede for my next one.
