All challenges are now in one area!

The Craftster Craft Challenges category will now host not only the official monthly Craftster Craft Challenges but it will also hold all of the category challenges run by our category moderators!

The category itself is pretty much the same except that we've beefed up the descriptions to help differentiate between boards related to our official monthly Craftster Craft challenge and our Category Challenges.

To see what Category Challenges are running at any given time, just go into the Category Challenges board and you'll be able to see each child board, one for every category that runs challenges! Here you'll be able to see if there are new posts that you haven't seen and what and when the most recent posts were.

We hope to always have one thread in each challenge entry board; possibly a "what challenges would you like to see" thread or something similar. Once a new challenge is underway, an explanation or announcement thread will be added in.

Our category moderators will still promote the challenges within their normal categories but by having the "nuts and bolts" of the challenges in one area, you'll be able to get information about the challenges either via the category OR by visiting the Category Challenges board for central viewing of all current category challenges.

Once a challenge is over, the entries will be tagged with the relevant tag for the challenge and returned to the completed projects area of the main category.  We've already done this to the threads that were living in the Challenge Archive boards for each category and those boards will soon be deleted.

We hope you like this new layout and hopefully it will make it easier not only to challenge your crafty self but also help you win more cool stuff!

Also, in celebration of the fancy new digs we hope to host a new category challenge in EVERY category in the next 3 months!

I love this.  As a mod, I always wonder if my chalenges are even noticed! But now, they will be, at least a bit more, by a broader scope of people, not just those who stop by the Fiber Boards.  Woohoo!!!!!!  Thanks Jungrrl and Sweets! (and all the background folks who helped too )

This is so convenient! I usually love seeing the awesome entries in the new category challenges and have to sift through the different boards at the same time. Now its so simple I think its very innovative and helpful!

YEAH!  I like doing challenges (get to keep the stuff and all!), and I'm looking forward to being able to choose ones from boards I don't frequent much

Love this improvement!  I'd just given up on other challenges because they were so hard to find.

I am wondering, though, is it possible to have our cake and eat it, too---to make it so we can see on the challenges category  itself which sub-boards have active challenges (I mean without having to click through to each individual challenge board)?

That would be awesome! One way to kind of make that work right now, is to click on each category. Then, after you go back to the main page, any boards you that have something new since you've been there last will be in bold (if you're on the main challenge page, and you can see the child boards of each category), or the face icon to the left of each category will be in bold (if you're on the actual category challenge page). Does that make sense? Not a perfect solution, but something to work around for now at least.

That's what I do.  I went to each of my favorite categories and clicked Notify on their news sections.  Usually the Moderator will post an announcement that links to the new challenge over here.
