I received from KriSmith last evening - found the package on my porch this morning!!!  I was late to work, so didn't have time to take pictures and post this morning - but I will as soon as I get home from work today.  I love the FQs she sent me too - never met a FQ I didn't like!  I'm aiming to get my FQs to my partners in the mail Friday after work-I don't think I'll be able to get them done up today before the PO closes - I have been waiting on some fabric I ordered, but I cannot wait any more, so out the door they will go! 

MareMare - we definitely need to have another round of this swap!  Please say yes and be our leader!!

Since summer will be in full swing by then, should we aim for Fall-Halloween-Fall Holidays for a theme?  I think most shops and fabric places would still have fall and such fabrics in stock?  Maybe we could just have these types of seasonal things for the overall theme and you wouldn't have to "match" partners so carefully!  Anything for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, back to school, etc. 

I'm at work, gotta go work now - I'll think more and write more tonight!

I received from kriSmith in my Group 4 - more great fabrics, none like any of those I have already received!


First, Aliens (eeeeek!) and Peace Out, Baby!


I was a teenager in the late sixties, the peace love fabric is my era!!

Then my favorites of this batch - 1930s-1940s reproduction fabric with sweet little children - I have a collection of reproductions, but I didn't have this one until today- I absolutely love this one!  and Celestial (which was one of the favorites I listed on my questionnaire) - I love this one too:

Now, I want to share something I picked up at a garage sale on my way home from work - this is why I love swaps like the FQ swap we are doing here.  I have a queen sized bed - check this out -


Each of those little squares measures 3/4" x 3/4" - it's all hand-stitched!  The fabric is from original feedsacks and flour bags and so on - you will totally know how thrilled I was when I got to purchase this today for just $20.00 - I know, can you believe it!!

Here's a close up of the little pieces - I love each one of them:

These are the very fabrics that are being reproduced today - now, you can see why I love reproductions from the 30s, 40s and 50s so much!!  I cannot imagine the patience it took to sew this quilt top.  Here is the reverse side of all those tiny, tiny pieces - hand stitched, each one! 


Now, I'll have to consult my quilt shop ladies to see how to finish the top and then have it quilted by one of them.  They all have much more experience with such lovely things as this.  I am just so happy - I cannot believe I own it!!

Love the word fabric!  The owls and penguins are so cute.  The fabric with the little outdoor bugs/creatures is so fun (the background is my favorite color so it makes me happy looking at that fabric ).

Yaaay! I'm glad you like them, Deece. I thought since the word fabric was a Christmas Carol in French it would speak to your love of Paris and be a Christmas print too. The penguins I thought Mod35tBabe would like, the owls were for MareMare, and the orange creature print was my pick. I mean, it has a flying squirrel, bats, and snails on it and it's orange, what is not to love?
