I had an awful mishap with dying my hair.  I've been dying my hair for most of my life and I've never had something like this happen.  I mixed the violet hair dye with toner because I wanted to go pastel violet, over the SUPER light pastel pink I had.  So, I bleached my roots to white and soap capped the rest and then I dyed my hair.  When I rinsed it the water ran COMPLETELY clear.  Well.... It isn't what I was expecting at ALL.  My roots are almost indigo and the length is as well but there is still a lot of pastel pink and in between that is dusty blue/black.  My hair completely soaked up ALL of the color and it came out SO dark.  SO dark.  I'm mortified.  And I'm afraid to wash it because it looks like it's threatening to fade to gray very soon.  I was going for PASTEL violet.  I'm super bummed.  I really didn't want dark hair.  I still have bleach and developer and tomorrow I'm going to pick up some hair dye to try to repair the damage.  Any ideas on exactly how I could repair said damage?   xoxo

Edit:
SO!  I fixed my hair.  Smiley  I'm happy with it.  I used N'rage, Which I've never used. Normally I use Special effects or Manic Panic or Punky when I can get my hands on it.  I wasn't nervous about switching brands though.  The ONLY convincing I needed was to smell it.  It smells EXACTLY like Banana laffy taffy.  The colors I used were ..... *googling correct names*..... Twisted teal, for the top and Purple plum for the bottom.  I also used a bit of Special Effects atom pink or some'it.  I'd have to google it or walk to my bathroom to look.  lol Anyways I used that on the VERY tips.  You can't really tell in any of the pictures though.  Well, On to the photos.

This was after the pastel violet dye.  You can still see a LOT of the old pastel pink.

After redyeing with teal and plum.  I even took off my favorite hat for these.

You can actually see the bottom of my hair in this shot.  The tips are my favorite.  Smiley

Well, That's everything!  Thank you for taking a minute to check out my shiz.  I didn't take photos of the process because there really wasn't much of a process but I will answer any questions.  Thanks again.  I'd love to hear what you think.  Smiley xoxo

I must admit I'm not a home dyeing expert, but I think it's time to cut your losses go to the salon.  Best of luck.
