My brother got married this weekend, and i thought that that would be a great occasion to sew myself a dress. I only sewed one for carnival before, but that one doesn't count because I didn't pay much attention to detail and doing everything the right way (it wasn't even hemmed).
This time, I bought silk taffeta for 55€, so I had to do it very carefully, and with much attention to detail:). I chose the pattern for the dress from Burda Style, march 2011 issue, model 108. I chose not to make the bubble skirt.

I'm very proud because the dress has the inside just as neat as the outside;). The bodice is lined with the same material (don't know why i didn't buy something cheaper though...), I did french seams on the skirt part and an invisible hem. I decided to insert a fuchsia pink metal zipper, because I knew I wouldn't be able to sew an invisible one, so going with the exact opposite seemed like a good idea Wink . I also wanted to add something interesting and unique to the dress.

I know this pictures are very bad, taken with a mobile phone, but I might add some, once the professionally taken ones arrive. Oh, I also did my own hair and makeup, so I'm pretty proud of that too;)

Beautiful dress, gorgeous neckline, love love the shape of the back--and the hot pink zipper is my favorite part!
