Hello Crafty Community! As some of you may know I have been really into ceramics and been taking ceramic classes at my local college. As of recently I entered one of my pieces into the student art show. I am very excited to announce that I won first place ceramics on this piece! So here it is!

I call it Nature Attack! It is 2 feet tall and actually pretty heavy!

The complete piece consists of 4 separate ceramic "pods" that each slide onto a vertical rod. Each pod is inspired by nature and its textures!

From top to bottom the objects are feathers, the next one is an octopus suction inspired shape. After that one is a tree trunk inspired object and the one on the bottom is a trio mushroom piece.

Here is the after show admiration. SUCH A BIG RIBBON!

Thanks for looking!

what a wonderful piece I love the way you have used texture and color to make the piece POP.

Did you lay the feathers over wet clay and leave to dry or did you scrafito them?

Would love to see if you have any in progress photos?

Congrats on a well deserved first.
