I can't count how many times I've read all four as "brain candy." And I love maps! I wish I had thought of this! Husband is a lucky fellow and your gifted!

Regarding map versions, Christopher Tolkien redrew his map in the 70's. So there are at least two versions. I got my 1st copy of The Hobbit in 1989 or so, and I recall that copy had forwards with at least one addressing map versions and corrections. The linked article notes J.R.R Tolkien often gave conflicting descriptions of Middle Earth.
